On 16 and 17 November 2009, the Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong, one of the finest hotels in the region, will present flagship wines from the 11 members of Primum Familiae Vini, an elite association of wine producing families.
The hotel will host a series of events including a gala dinner at the Island Ballroom, a luncheon at Lobster Bar and Grill and a trade tasting at the Atrium.
A representative from each member of Primum Familiae Vini, known also as PFV, will attend the events. The representatives are Hubert de Billy (Champagne Pol Roger, France), Baroness Philippine de Rothschild (Chateau Mouton Rothschild, France), Egon Müller (Egon Müller Scharzhof, Germany), Etienne Hugel (Hugel et fils, France), Laurent Drouhin (Maison Joseph Drouhin, France), Alessia Penankjh Antinori (Marchesi Antinori, Italy), Juan Maria Torres (Miguel Torres, Spain), Marc and Pierre Perrin (Perrin et fils, France), Sebastiano Rosa (Tenuta San Guido – Sassicaia, Italy), Paul Symington (The Symington Family Estates, Portugal) and Pablo Alvarez (Vega-Sicilia, Spain).
The gala dinner will be held on 16 November 2009 from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Island Ballroom on level five of the hotel.
Beginning with a champagne reception, each course will be paired with two or three top wines from the PFV members’ estates, namely Champagne Pol Roger Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill 1998, Joseph Drouhin Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru 2005, Hugel & Fils Riesling Jubilee 2004, Perrin & Fils Chateau de Beaucastel, Hommage à Jacques Perrin 1995 magnum, Egon Müller 2006 Scharzhofberger Auslese Goldkapsel, Antinori Tignanello 2004, Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia 2003, Torres Grans Muralles 2001, Vega-Sicilia Unico 1994, Chateau Mouton Rothschild 1989 and W. & J. Graham’s 1994 Vintage Port.
The dinner, featuring a five-course menu by Chef Frederic Chabbert of the Michelin-starred Restaurant Petrus, is priced at HK$2,688 per person and sold by a minimum of eight guests per table.
