Tickets for the dinner and musical evening are $100 each, with $50 directly donated to “Save the Children of Haiti.” The show will be emceed by Palm Springs’ radio personality Bill Feingold, from “The Bill Feingold Show” heard Mon-Fri, on KNEWS Radio, 94.3FM and Lorin Dreyfuss. The silent auction will be conducted during the cocktail hour and additional LIVE auction items will be offered throughout the evening. Auction items and contributions both locally and nationally are currently being collected. Items can be donated for the event by contacting Lorin Dreyfuss at 760-668-3558. The committee and Hotel Zoso have partnered with Chase Bank to set up an account “Save the Children of Haiti.” Additional donations can be sent to PO Box 614, Rancho Mirage, CA. 92270. As a reminder, a portion of event ticket purchases and all donations in advance of February 28, 2010, may be tax deductible on 2009 tax returns – patrons are urged to consult their tax advisors. Noted humanitarian workers and volunteers, who have recently been in Haiti, plan to appear at the event. Most notably, Dr. Raul Ruiz, a local doctor and featured guest speaker for the event, and the medical director for the Jenkins/Penn Haiti Relief Organization, will share his insights and recent experiences in the devastated Haitian communities. His organization has been responsible for directing physicians, care givers, medicines and medical supplies to high priority locations, including large displaced homeless camps. They also distributed food, water, and water filters throughout camps in Haiti. Representatives from Save the Children also plan to appear.
